California has more green power than nuclear

Energy expert Bernard Chabot adds the figures from July to his charts on electricity in California. One main finding is that renewables may have surpassed nuclear for good in the state in terms of kilowatt-hours. Since June 26, only one nuclear reactor has been in operation in California (Diablo Canyon 2).

It is worth noting that Diablo Canyon 2 is located directly on the Pacific and is thus exposed to tsunamis; see this image. Bernard Chabot's study is available as a PDF. (Craig Morris)

Refering to " California has more green power than nuclear"
Japan has now so as well, the CO2-emissions caused by the utilities are going down:

Not going down fast enough to meet the self-dictated goal of minus 20% versus 1990 but still into the right direction.

"Diablo Canyon 2 is located directly on the Atlantic." I must have missed the teleportation of California by aliens to the East Coast.
